Just wondering if anyone has good information on any avenue for a US Citizen to move to the UK? Either permanent residency, temporary, work visa, citizenship, etc. I am at a loss...I feel like I have researched extensively, but can't find any way to get there. Maybe someone knows of something I didn't come across?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jessica

    Hi!

I moved here from the US (Northern Virginia) as well, though I'm married to an EU national, which made the move a bit easier. To answer your question, take advantage of the 90 day visa waiver program between the US and UK, and come here to see if you would like to stay longer. Once here, you can start looking for employment and try to get a work visa from the employer. Unless you have strong ties to an EU national, or are married to one, then the only way to go is via a work permit.

    work permit?

Isn't it true that you must work in a certain field to apply for a work permit in the UK (doctor, nurse, ect.)

Yes, as i thought. You must be involved in the HSMP or proper sector of the low skilled UK work permit to apply.
