    Can anyone advise me on the following legal position. I am English. My boyfriend is Moroccan. Can I marry him outside of the UK and go back to the UK with him. Will he be allowed in as my husband without problems. I need to know.

    You'd need to apply for a settlement visa and show you can support yourselves independently, or have a sponsor. If you have a job and your own accommodation in the UK, there shouldn't be a problem.

    Thanks Bendan, I'm really grateful for your advice. What is a settlement visa, Where would I apply for it? I am uk resident - does that not matter in this instance?
