First off, hi. I intend to marry my boyfriend who is a US citizen very soon.
Currently, he is here on a tourist visa with me. We had planned to send him back to the US solely to apply for a fiance visa so that he could come back and we could get married.

My questions henceforth are;

Does he HAVE to return to the US? I understand that UK law recently changed, and that I can no longer marry him on his current visa.

Could we possibly marry in another country and return to the UK and have him apply from here for a status change?

Failing this, does anyone have any information for how long he will have to be back in the USA before he can come back to me again, with the fiance visa? I'm hoping he'll only be gone a few days...

How much money do I have to reasonably own/earn for me to be considered a good enough sponser?
