    Hello,easy expat
I wrote to your site couple of times before and found it to be very helpfull,so here i'm back seeking for your advice.
I'm non EU member,a wife of an EU member. My husband have been in UK since september 2004.We got married in december 2005,and I came to join him on EEA family permit in 11/06/06.
As we understand in order for me to be able to live with him here in UK he need to get a residence permit, and I-residence document.
Would he be entitled for one as a worker(or any other category) if he wasn't employed for full 12 month without a break. He was employed:
    21/12/04-15/04/05
    27/04/05-august 2005
He stopped working for the company in august, but he didn't cut his contract. He is still on their registration scheem.
Since august he was unemployed. Now he is looking for another job.
Can he get his residence permit and me-residence document?
    Thank you

That is in 2 months time.

Anyways, I would advice him to get a job and apply for you both.

Sorry,I made a mistake in writing
    I actually arrived on 11/04/06
The other thing i wanted to ask:what is the difference between EEA1/2 form and EEC1/2 form.Which one do we need to fill in?
Under which category does my husband need to upply-as a worker or self sufficiant (on a basis that he wasn't working for 7 month)?

You need EEA,those are the new forms.
You have a 5 months till you apply, there is no need to rush.I would advise him to get any job.Yes ,selfsuficient can be applied but he would need to show considerable amount.See here @

    Hello,sir.
    Thank you for your answers.
Sorry I've got that thing unclear:
My husband can't apply as selfsuficient(doesn't have a considerable amount to show)Though he didn't claim for any benefits,so he wasn't a burden for the goverment for that time.
He wasn't working for full 12 month and to upply as a worker you've got to work for that period with no break.
If he applies as a worker, will his application be not refused?
    Thank you.

Thats why I suggested he gets the job.
I just dont know what happens to people that dont have a job and apply for residence for themselfes and spouses.
Home Office will be asking: how does he live ,no money in the bank and no job,its just does not look good.
If he had a job, maybe would take longer for them to process it , but I am positive it would get him and yourself a residence.

Hey, you need to complete form
    http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/ind/en ... MRSnew.pdf
and NOT form EEA1 and 2, because your husband has to register under the scheme.

You have to do like this:

    1. first he has to register with the registration scheme
    2. then you apply with this form FMRS

Then once he completes 1 year working and registered in this scheme, then you can apply using EEA1 and 2.

Triple H, you passed wrong information. Maybe because you didnt see her husband is lithuanian.

mMaria, have a look at home office page for correct details:
    http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/ind/en ... _form.html

Sorry,it's maybe my mistake, i didn't explain properly full situation. My husband came to UK 07/04. Got registered with the registration scheme 21/09/04, but he never completed working for full 12 month.
    working dates:
    21/12/04-15/04/05
    27/04/05-/08/05
He's got his registration sertificate with the last company he worked for,but stoped working for them in 08/05,he wants to get more permanent job, which will provide for both of us,what he is looking for now.
    I came on 11 04 06 with family permit visa valid till 30 09 06.
    What should we do?
    Thank you

    Hi mMaria,
you guys will have to fill the the form FMRS anyway, because he should have completed 12 months in a single employment to be able to apply with EEA1 and 2.
It will be easy. He will get a registration card valid for 1 year and you will get a residence permit for 1 year too. Then later you will be able to apply with EEA1 and 2 - it´s for free. They should normally give a 5 year permit at the time then.
