Ok US fiance and UK resident - My fiance in the US (who is coming here to marry me) is collecting documentation, originally was requested a copy of my passport which he took with him. Now they ask for a certified copy - can I do this at a bank as a previous thread suggested? Cause the woman at the chicago consulate said it has to be certified by the passport office? Anyway, we also were told after that to check another website and that says he must send in my original passport!? This is awful as I've planned a visit there in a few weeks and so I can't send that in till after I return.

Also - they originally said they wanted proof of my accommodation so I gave mortgage statements and the copies of my land registry I had - but now they say they want certified copies of the deeds to my house - I've never even seen these myself.

Please - one step closer and two steps back. Please help? We are both confused.
