I hope someone in similar situation can help with this:

I have applied for a residence card with my partner and was issued with letter (certificate of application-COA) which i used to get my National Insurance and also have bank account on the same name.I have started working with this document. Apparently, the application should take 6months to resolve and my employer had verified my right to work with the Home Office. However,me and my partner have not heard from Home office for the last 5 months.

My question is, can i still carry on working while the application is over 6 months and outstanding?.And also, will my employer need to do another verification since the 6 months have expired?

Yes, you can continue to work. You right to work is granted by EU law, and it does not depend on any paper work.

Now the employer has to check your eligibility to work, and that is where the paperwork comes in. It is his issue, not yours. Having said that, very few employers do a follow-up check. If yours does, you have to ask the UKBA for an updated letter.

Current waiting times for the residence card are about 9 months, so with a bit of luck you will get it soon.

Thanks a lot for the response.

In the meantime, can you advise on anything that can actually help the application?

At the moment me and my partner work full time and pay loads of bills together and also have joint bank account and life insurance in both our names.

I am thinking of going to Uni ,but not sure if i'll be accepted as home or foreign student regarding school fee.

Please note that I have some doucmentations including my COA and UK provisional license to prove I have been in the UK for over 3 years

    Cheers

Hm, they haven't ask much tbh, we've filled-in fee assessment form where have had to list all countries where lived within 5 years. In our case we have 2,5 years within EU, 1,5 years of them in the UK. Then photocopies of passport and all visa pages, i.e. EEA family permit, FMRS and another EEA family permit. Also, photocopy of my passport and marriage certificate with translation. We didn't need to show CoA.

Hope someone can help with this.

I have been working with my COA for over 6 months now, but my employer is asking for more proof or terminate my appointment since the COA has expired, but the application is still pending with the UKBA. At a point, my employer said they'll be checking my entitlement to work, every week. That really worries me alot!

Can some advise on any possible solution please?

    Hi all,

Can someone help answering this please?

I and my partner applied as EEA unmmarried partner and after a number of complaint ,HO finally responded by sending us a questionaire asking how my partner entered UK. I am not sure if anyone has received this questionaire before and what follws after as we can only fill the form to the best of our knowledge, but we're worried that the application may be delined, even though we meet the 2 years living together requirement, plus bundle of documentations

    Please advise,

    Thanks

    content of Certificate of Application

Hi, can you tell me what was written in your certificate of application? Did it state your right for employment specifically?

    Best.
