There are 2 main questions first: are you more than 18 and is your father French?

Your father could have been born in France from American parents for example and if he has not asked for getting the French nationality, you cannot get it.

If he is French, then you can ask a French citizenship through your link with your father (called in French: par filiation or droit du sang) but only if you are under the age of 18!

However you might have specific conditions thath I do not know, so I suggest you to contact the French consulate.
