German Speaking Support Agent
Our iGaming client is growing their Compliance team in Malta and is looking for a Head of Compliance who will lead a team of 3 compliance officers and responsible for all B2B compliance activities to ensure the company is at the forefront of understanding jurisdictions requirements and obligations to operate in the regulated markets. The Head of Compliance must be able to apply a business mindset and help resolve a range of queries, high-level concerns or specific problems relating to regulatory and operational compliance.
The Head of Compliance will be working closely with the Director of Compliance & Regulated markets and also other departments such as Products, Commercial, Legal and Operations teams to determine when a regulatory change requires a new or different implementation to product or process: platform and/or different product and content, corporate items, organization and administration of compliance obligations as well as the scope of implementation. Collaboration with other departments and external parties required to assess, communicate, design and implement compliance solutions.
Managing the Compliance team:
Mentoring and supporting the compliance officers in their day to day activities and establish different ownership and processes internal to the compliance group in collaboration with the Director of Compliance.
Ensuring compliance team has clear goals to work towards
Responsible for recruitment of new members of the team, setting salaries and performance reviews
Take ownership of the compliance functions withing the company; Stay on top of all changes and amendments to relevant regulations impacting the company’s position, practices, product, and operations
Support the company’s understanding of new jurisdictions, license applications and/or other obligations by providing interpretations of existing or new requirements, analyzing their effect on the company, processes, product, and workflows
Ensure all company verticals and partners comply with regulatory and compliance obligations and are fit to be operated by customers
Identify any processes, operational, product and/or technical areas impacted by non-compliant procedures and developing and oversee remedial plans
Take ownership of compliance-related investigations; Conduct reviews, assessments, and investigations in accordance with the regulatory and internal/external requirements
Create and maintain compliance documents, internal and external compliance processes and workflows, jurisdiction responsibility matrixes, compliance test cases, and other ancillary materials
Work with product teams, external partners, compliance, legal, sales, and any relevant departments to ensure alignment on upcoming markets activities
Collaborate with release management to ensure new functionalities are implemented in accordance with specifications and timely delivered
Propose strategic compliance initiatives for product/operations development to prepare products and operations to meet future regulatory needs
Any additional duties that may be assigned by the director in line with business needs.
Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
Around 5 years’ experience within the gaming industry and passionate about gambling in general and products in particular
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar senior compliance position within the gaming industry holding external-facing roles with B2C operators and B2B suppliers
B2B experience, technical background or tech/software company experience a big plus!
Experience presenting project plans and leading market entry projects
Experience in assisting with creating compliance training material
Able to make decisions and lay out contingency plans when faced with uncertainty
Positive and enthusiastic in finding simple solutions to complex problems
Driven, self-motivated and inspirational leadership skills
Capable of managing your workload notwithstanding competing priorities and respond positively to change
Good at building relationships both internal and external stakeholders including MGA & UKGC
