Experiencia:
Having previously worked for local council authorities as a Health and Wellbeing Coach and currently as a Diabetes Practitioner, I have great experience working collaboratively and communicating with GP’s and Health Professionals when signposting individuals to appropriate weight loss and diabetes services. I am extremely passionate about continuing to develop and build upon my experience within the public health sector, specifically with combating obesity and Type 2 Diabetes within the population.
Currently I am a Diabetes Practitioner delivering both pre-diabetic and Type 2 interventions in correlation with the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) across the United Kingdom, through both online and in person health promotion strategies. Having found myself working in contrasting settings both in the public and private sector, I have developed excellent communication skills, knowing how and when to adapt my communication and engagement methods, ensuring conversation is always relevant to the audience. This also encourages my ability to handle, provide and receive both sensitive and complex information, and has enabled me to build and maintain effective working relationships within different community settings. As I continue to develop in my career, my aspiration is to continue building and strengthening my public health skills. I relish the potential to contribute to the continuing responsibilities of improving the health of the public
