Wisemummy81 Hi I’m Rowella better known as wiseummy81 in the worldwide web; I’m currently in Kuwait from the island of the Philippines.

To grant my mother’s wish, be with my family and to find better opportunity

I’m currently working as procurement officer in a petroleum company in Kuwait.

3. How often do you communicate with home and how?
Well, mom & dad and whole family are already here except grandma, I call her as often as I could thru phone or Skype

4. What's your favorite thing about being an expat in Kuwait?
Tax Free, quality of living and medical benefits

5. What’s the worst thing about being an expat in Kuwait?
Discrimination and the fear of going out alone especially if you’re a lady, it’s better to be safe than never!

6. What do you miss most?
Apart from my grandmother, the wonderful beaches of the Philippines, pinoy street foods and active lifestyle

7. What did you do to meet people and integrate in your new home?
Mainly facebook, mutual friends and community gatherings

8. What custom/ habits do you find most strange about your adopted culture?
Hmmm... at first, I find it very uncomfortable doing The “cheek to cheek” gesture when meeting or greeting someone (same sex),  that makes me overly conscious with my skin and smell whenever I go out!!

9. What is a myth about your adopted country?
Boring and wasteland country...

(In reality, Modern Kuwait is indeed advance, fashionable and one great place for shopping!!!)

10. Is the cost of living higher or lower than the last country you lived in and how has that made a difference in your life?
Cost of living is quite high but products /services quality are equally high, it does change my expectations in life and wherever I go

11. What advice would you give other expats?
Enjoy your stay!!  Represent your country in a good way, and lastly, be a good citizen –obey the rules as well as the traditions of your adopted country

12. When and why did you start your blog? Wisemummy81
I started blogging 2 years ago in quest to improve my writing, I’m a frustrated writer and blogging somehow take me into a different “free world “where I can express myself without hesitation, I accepted the fact, that people may comment and correct my grammar but it’s a way of learning and I keep on writing to improve and share anything that fascinates me!
