Marketing & communication director

The Marketing and Communications Director is a senior-level role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to support the organization's goals and objectives in Cameroon. This position requires a deep understanding of marketing principles, brand management, and effective communication techniques. The Marketing and Communications Director will work closely with the Managing Director and Director of Operation and lead a team of marketing and communication professionals. Whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product and brand awareness, support growth and help forge stronger relationships with key decision-makers within our target customers in Europe, USA, Canada, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Managing projects and workflow for all assigned marketing tactics. Coordinating with internal/external design teams and vendors to ensure project timelines are met. Ensuring property marketing materials are up to date and organized appropriately across all company platforms.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Strategic Development: Working closely with senior operational and functional leadership, develop and execute effective marketing strategies in focused geographical markets in alignment with overall business and sales objectives.
• Brand Management: Maintain a strong brand identity and ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing and communication materials. Monitor market trends, conduct competitor analysis, and implement strategies to enhance the organization's brand positioning.
• Marketing Campaigns: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of brand and demand generation campaigns to promote products, services, or initiatives in conjunction with local sales teams. Develop marketing campaigns, inclusive of digital, advertising materials, and webinars ensuing they align with the brand and target audience.
• Digital Marketing: Maintain and further develop digital marketing strategies, including website management, social media, and online branding. Leverage on analytics and data-driven insights to optimize digital marketing efforts and drive audience engagement.
• Market Data: Work with the global marketing team to collect, maintain, analyze and report on customer, competitive and market data as it pertains to key sector and geographies.
• External Relations and Public Affairs: Manage the organization's public image and relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and stakeholders. Across the hemisphere Develop and distribute press releases, handle media inquiries, and organize events to optimize branding.
• Crisis Management: Be part of the hemisphere and regional crisis response team in the event of an emergency. Ensure communications both internally and externally are crafted and delivered in accordance with policy.
• Internal Communications: Maintain and further internal communication strategies to inform and engage employees. Create other communication materials to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.
• Global Marketing: Work closely with the global marketing team to develop, implement and oversee internal and external campaigns that support ESHAC’s goals across the organization
• Reporting and Analytics: Ensures marketing team are fully reporting key metrics and campaign data, which helps to measure, and communicate ROI to key stakeholders.
• Leadership; Manage and mentor a team of marketing and communication professionals. Provide guidance, set performance objectives, creating a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Financial Management; Manage the marketing and communications budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-efficiency in marketing activities.
• Compliance: Ensure that all business activities are conducted with the utmost integrity and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience preferred in Communication, Marketing, Business Administration.
• Minimum of 5-9 years in marketing and/or business development role – a fast-paced work environment preferred, or commensurate experience.
• CIM certificate or above in professional marketing preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Adaptability – maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with various types of people.
• Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of different projects/tasks at once.
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills.
• Team oriented; works well with others in a cross-functional way to get the job done
Is a self-starter; able to start and complete projects independently.
• Excellent written and oral communications; conveys ideas clearly and concisely.
• Impeccable attention to detail; completes projects and tasks with thoroughness at each step.
• Advanced Microsoft office product knowledge –Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Adobe InDesign proficiency required.
