Shopping in Istanbul


Istanbul is a shopping paradise where old, kitsch and modern shops exist happily beside each other. From much sought-after international names to hand crafted goods, you’ll find it all in Istanbul… if you know where to look. Though there are a number of boutiques, a wander through the bazaar is an absolute must for the best deals.

The commercial areas in Istanbul are:

  • Grand bazaar: with over 4000 shops, you can find everything from rugs to spices, hookahs to antiques
  • Beyoglu: an up-market area that’s home to a number of boutiques and modern stores
  • Nisantasi: another modern part of the city with a number of shopping complexes
