Cinema

The two main commercial cinema companies in Stockholm are Sandrews and SF, but the most interesting films are shown in the independent theatres such as Zita, Sture and Kvartersbion. You can check the cinema listings through the websites of the daily papers:

A trip to the cinema will usually cost around 8 euros although it’s often cheaper on Mondays.

There’s a large cinema complex at the Filmhuset, Borgvägern 3-5, metro Gärdet, and you may also be interested in the Heroncity complex, which features Scandinavia's largest cinema with no less than 18 screens:

Nightclubs

Many clubs in Sweden request a membership card. Some visitors have reported that this can be used as a form of discrimination against visible minorities although this is certainly a rare occurrence.
