Gas in Sri Lanka

Cooking in Sri Lankan homes is done using LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders attached to domestic cooktops, marketed by a duopoly of two major companies, Litro Gas and Laugfs. A large cylinder holds about 12.5 kilograms of gas, priced around Rs.1500 per cylinder. The connection, regulator and cylinder, plus other accessories needed, can be bought from these companies either online or first hand. Rental price, however, does not include the cooking gas.
