The Orchard Road is the first place any shopaholic will be drawn to. From its high-end boutiques such as Gucci & Prada, to its vast shopping centres, there are bargains to be found everywhere, and prices are set so you know you won't leave feeling you may have paid more than if you hadn't been a tourist. Most of the shops are open until 10 at night, and just about every shopping centre has a very good food court so you can shop, eat, and shop again.
In addition to the Orchard Road and its environs, there are many other shopping centres such as Raffles City, VivoCity & Suntec City, as well as the rather calmer boutiques to be found in places like the area around the Raffles Hotel and Chijmes.
If you are looking for something more, places like the flea markets of Bugis Junction, the antique galleries of Chinatown, the traditional knickknacks and handcrafts of Arab Street, and the colours and Southern Indian feel of Little India (and while in Little India you must visit the 24 hour shopping bargain shopping experience that is Mustafa's - www.mustafa.com.sg ).
And the good news (apart from the prices)? There is somewhere to eat close to everywhere you shop. Can life really get any better…?
