Cinema in Bucharest

Bucharest has a busy cultural agenda, and that includes both mainstream and independent films, in addition to a long list of small film festivals taking place throughout the year. There are several state-owned cinemas halls in the city, although lately their number has been decreasing as many shopping centers also have modern multiplex cinemas showing the latest Hollywood releases. European and independent films can usually be seen at speciality cinemas and cultural centers.

Films are generally in original language, with Romanian subtitles. Tickets can cost between 5 and 8 euros, depending on the day of the week and the cinema.

Nightclubs in Bucharest

One thing that Bucharest is famous for is its exciting nightlife. Nightclubs are plentiful and cater to all categories. Many are in the Lipscani Old Center - the party area of the city. However, you can find clubs, especially upscale ones, hidden all over Bucharest.

Prices range anywhere between ten euros a drink to more than a hundred, and clubs are open usually from 9 p.m. The real party, however, doesn't start until midnight. There are no mandatory closing times in Romania, so clubs often stay open until early in the morning.
