Employees accept job offers not only upon the salary but also on the benefits that accompany many positions. Employee benefits are a "job perk" that may convince a potential employee to join a specific company. Evaluate what benefits are valuable to you when looking for a package.

Other common in Doha include:

• Accommodation (company accommodation or a stipend for accommodation)
• Annual flights to your home country for you and your family
• Educational expenses paid for your family
• Household help for your family (i.e. a housekeeper or maid)

Gratuity in Qatar

Another common benefit is a bonus or "gratuity" paid out at the end of an employee's contract. It is also known as 'end-of-contract benefits' or 'end-of-service' benefits. The worker should have completed at least five years of employment to collect gratuity.

The amount of this gratuity is agreed upon between you and your employer. The basic formula is in the range 15 to 20 days of basic pay per year of employment for the first three years, and a month's pay every year, thereafter.
