Orchestra

The Manila Symphony Orchestra is one of the first orchestras established in Asia and one of the most active orchestras in the Philippines.

The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the major orchestras of the Philippines. They are based in the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Manila is home to a number of museums showcasing the Philippines' rich culture and history.

National Museum of the Philippines

Hours: Tues-Sun 10am - 5pm

The National Museum of the Philippines houses various painting, sculptures and artifacts dating as far back as the 17th century. It also holds artworks by famous national artists including Fernando Amorsolo, Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo and Guillermo Tolentino. It is home to the masterpiece artwork of Juan Luna known as "Spoliarium".

Metropolitan Museum of Manila

The Metropolitan Museum of Manila houses modern and contemporary art. It also holds a collection of pre-historic gold and pottery and other colonial Hispanic art.

Ayala Museum

Hours: Tues-Sun 9am-6pm

This museum has an exhibit on Philippine history dioramas as well as a collection of various archaeological artifacts, gold objects, ship models and indigenous textiles. They also host other exhibits, talks and workshops. Ayala Museum is also home to the Filipinas Heritage Library, a modern library with volumes of resources on Philippine art, culture and history.

This museum is an interactive museum not only for kids but also for kids-at-heart.
