Hotels and Bed and Breakfast

There are hundreds of hotels in Bogota, for all tastes and preferences. Many of them are located either in the historical city center La Candelaria and its surroundings, in the Chapinero residential area, in the posh North or in the Western part of Bogota, close to the airport.

You can find hotels with a long tradition in the life of the city, such as Hotel Tequendama, international chains such as Sheraton and Marriott, or small boutique hotels in restored colonial houses.

Prices fluctuate during the year, with peak seasons in December and during important fairs, festivals and other events. Expect to pay anywhere between 30 and 150 usd per night for a double room, with hotels in the city center having lower prices, while the modern ones in the business districts charge more.

B&Bs in Bogota

Bed &Breakfast, i.e. small family-run establishments that offer accommodation and a common breakfast for all guests, is not a common format in Colombia. Family-run accommodations rarely offer breakfast, but many hotels do, though it is not always included in the rate.

If you would like a more personalized service with a cozier atmosphere and breakfast service, boutique hotels may be an option.

Hostels in Bogota

Hostels often offer rather inexpensive accommodation and a social atmosphere. They generally have beds in shared dormitories, but private rooms are increasingly common. The historical La Candelaria has a plethora of hostels, mostly catering to younger audiences. A bed in a dorm costs around 10-15 usd, but breakfast is not usually provided.

An good way to find a hostel is through Hostelling International, but the city also has plenty of independent hostels that offer a high quality service.
