The preferred way of termination between an employer and employee is by end of contract and mutual agreement between the two. Usually the employer receives some sort of compensation and on top of that could qualify for full unemployment.

The daily cash benefit for unemployment is 60% of you average insurable income, which the employee paid contributions towards during the first 24 months of employment. Only the periods of unemployment insurance and income in Bulgaria are taken into account when calculating the benefit if the employee has worked in Bulgaria or another EU Member State.
The first step to obtain unemployment is to register at the Employment Agency 7 days after termination from work. Then an application for unemployment benefits must be submitted within three months to the regional department of the National Social Security Institute.
