TV & Internet


Cable TV

In the Brussels-Capital Region, 4 companies of cable-TV are available (but conditions and channels may vary depending on the area). They provide also Internet with the cable and sometime the telephone.

Satellite TV

Some towns tried to tax the satellite dishes, but this has be declared illegal by the European commission! Two local Belgian Sat-TV providers are:

In addition to the Internet access with cable (provided by 4 companies cited above: UPC and Coditel using the LanCity cable, and Wolu-TV and Brutélé using Terayon), it is possible to use ADSL with 3 providers:

Wi-Fi are installed in public areas (such as Brussels national airport) and antennas are installed in the region. Clearwire is trying an independent system in Brussels, based on the WiMAX standard (7 times more powerful, it can reach up to 45 km while Wi-Fi can only be used by computer within a 10-20 meter range).

Expat TV and Radio in Belgium
Hi I have just arrived in Belgium from England ( from London )
Belgium is really great, but I missed my English Television and radio.
However a friend showed me the way !
I found the great guys of

www.tvfromhome.be

They provide all Expat TV services.
Really greatv they were friendly and really helped me to get connected to Freesat in the bedroom and SKY in the living room.
Now the kids and wife are happy again !
