Being the capital of Austria, Vienna and the area surrounding it attracts a number of expatriates and rich locals. As a result, there are a number of international schools to choose from.

Below are the names and details of some of the more recognised ones.

• Vienna International School: Originally founded to cater to the needs of children of the United Nations and diplomatic community in Vienna, it is now open to children of the international business community and Austrian families.
• The American International School: Has students from a number of nationalities; education prepares students until university studies.
• Danube International School: This is the only English medium private school in Central Vienna.
• Vienna Elementary School: Offers elementary school education in English from kindergarten through fourth grade.
  
• International Christian School of Vienna: This is a private, non-profit institution for students between five and eighteen years of age.
• Lycée Français: Offers French education.
