Theatres in Andorra

Andorra offers a wide choice of theatre for all ages. Even though the country does not home big theatres facilities, each Andorran villages and parishes owns its own little theatre.

The Andorra National Scene is the country main entity dedicated to the performing arts promotion in the Principality of Andorra. The Andorran Government, La Massana Comú and the Crèdit Andorrà Foundation design the ENA Foundation (Escena Nacional d'Andorra) board yearly. Check out its performance schedule here (in Catalan).

Most of the Andorra National Scene and independent plays are performed at the Teatre Comunal (webpage in Catalan) in Andorra's capital. This is the biggest theatre in Andorra and has capacity for 250 people.

Cirque du Soleil in Andorra

Notice that Cirque du Soleil performs every month of July in Andorra La Vella for free.  The 60 minutes show begins at 10pm, and it is preceded by a previous animation.

Opera in Andorra

Since October 2017, Andorra homes a new national opera choir. A project led by the association "Andorra Lírica", which has been working for more than two years to bring this musical genre closer to the citizens. The new opera choir has been named "Cor de l'òpera d'Andorra" and it allows those who visit it to participate in the shows organized within the Opera Season.

Orchestra in Andorra

The National Classical Orchestra of Andorra (ONCA) was created in 1992. It was a Government of Andorra initiative and it is currently managed both by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the "Crèdit Andorrà Foundation".

Museums in Andorra

Many elements of the Andorran landscape, as well as the configuration of its main tourist attractions, such as hiking trails, sky fields, mountain adventure sports, are products of a culture based on the intense and rational exploitation of the resources offered by mother nature.

However, Andorra surprises by the large number of museums. A wide cultural offer where the original Romanic style and old art expressions live with the most modern and latest artistic manifestations.

In just 468 km2, you will be able to find more than twenty museums spread out across the country that will undoubtedly satisfy everyone expectations with the most unique collections. The most important museums in Andorra are:

Free entrance to Andorran Museums

The PassMuseu is a good option to discover Andorra's art and culture through its museums. This pass allows access to 18 museums for only 19€! It is valid for one entry per museum and person for 1 year. It can be purchased both at museums and at the country's tourism offices.

Included museums: Motorcycle Museum, Automobile National Museum, Casa Cristo Museum, Museum of Sacred Art, MW Electricity Museum, Mola and Cal Pal Sawmill, Cortinada Nature Center, Casa Areny-Plandolit Museum, Postal Museum, Museum of the Miniature, Romanesque Interpretation Center, Casa Rull Museum, Farga Rossell Interpretation Center of the Iron, Comic Museum, Tobacco Museum, Perfume Museum, Escaldes-Engordany Art Center (CAEE), etc.

As in the many other places, Andorra celebrates every May 18th with a Museums open night during the International Museum Day. Throughout that special day, most of its museums are completely free.
Events are also extended to its following days and many cultural activities are organized along the weekend.
