jobs.classifieds1000.com/Israel lists jobs of all kinds in Israel and is a great place to start looking for summer employment, as is the following site:

Hostels throughout Israel can help overseas travellers find casual jobs, try: No. 1 Hostel, 84 Ben Yehuda St, Tel Aviv; and Momo’s Hostel, 28 Ben Yehuda St, Tel Aviv.

The prospering and expanding Red Sea resort of Eilat employs many foreign travellers in its many hotels, bars, marinas, yachts, etc. Inquire at hostels or the Good Luck Bar (where the famous Peace Café used to be).

A very popular Israeli summer job is working on a kibbutz. A kibbutz is a kind of community compound, with its own shops and land, and is unique to Israel. You’ll be paid next to nothing but food and basic accommodation will be provided. The main attraction is the chance to get physically fit working and sweating under the hot Israeli sun and most of all meeting interesting people from all over the world. The Kibbutz Program Center, Volunteer Dept., 18 Frishman St., Corner of Ben Yehuda St (No. 90), Tel Aviv 61030, Israel, 011-972-3-527-8874, kpcvol@inter.net.il, can place you on a kibbutz for a fee of $60. If you’re an American it will be very helpful to obtain a letter of introduction from the Kibbutz Aliya Desk, 633 3rd Ave., 21st Fl., New York, NY 10017, kibbutzdsk@aol.com, http://www.kibbutz.org.il/eng, which acts as a clearinghouse for American volunteers.

The minimum stay at a kibbutz is usually two months. Summer is the busiest period. Meira's Volunteers at 73 Ben Yehuda St., 1st Fl., Tel Aviv 63435, Israel, 011-972-3-523-7369, fax 011-972-3-524-1604, is an agency intended for kibbutz volunteers already in Israel.
