In Australia the system of training courses is not very developed because most of the school institutions do not include it in their programs. As such Australian companies are not familiar with training courses (and you will not usually be paid for this ).
An Internship in Australia is, despite all this, the best way to make a huge step forward in your life and boost your CV. Just be careful with the definition of the terms: with an Internship you can be paid and it lasts from two to six months. Work Experience however, indicates more a training course from 2 to 4 weeks and it is usually not remunerated . A training period is similar to a trial period where you are trained during 6 - 12 months before being completely recruited into the company.
