Electricity in China is 220 volts/50 hz. Most buildings have universal outlets
that can handle a wide variety of plug shapes. Those using US appliances will
require an adaptor to handle the difference in voltage between the US and Chinese
power supplies.
If you are renting a property, use of utilities, up to an agreed limit, may
be included in your rent, particularly if you rent a serviced apartment. If
you are required to settle your utility bills directly, you will be required
to provide evidence that no charges are outstanding before your security deposit
is returned by the landlord.
