    Restaurants

Rome is full of great restaurants and trattorias. It would take an encyclopedia to list and describe all of them. We have selected only a few restaurants in the historic center based on recommendation and listed by area below. Make sure to note that some trattorias do not accept credit cards or traveller's cheques. When dining out in Rome, always make sure that the restaurant is not a tourist trap, as many of these types of restaurants tend to serve pre-prepared frozen dinners. Most of these places surround the tourist sites and are recognizable because they show photographs of their food. Beware!
