    Internship in France (stage) is often necessary to complete degrees for a student that wants to highlight is skills and get a first experience at work! To seek an internship abroad is also a unique experience, in term of language as well as for learning a new culture.

    A lot of internships are available directly at the University/School office in charge of interns. We recommend also to contact directly, by sending a CV and a cover letter, large companies that offer each year numerous internships (banks, insurance, services,...). We advise you to target mainly positions that are linked with your degree. Internship must be used primarily as a practice of your academic knowledge (the internship is said to be conventionné when there is a contract that links the university, the company and the intern)

    There is no automatic interview but it is very frequent for long period or at the end of your degree. The company seeks to determine whether the intern has got the skills and the motivation for the position, and the intern has to find whether the internship is filling his/her aim. It is necessary to get information about the company befor to go to the interview (do not forget to check the comapany website for example).

    Here are some websites that might be useful :

    Direct Etudiant [http://www.directetudiant.com] is the leader of internship offers in France and abroad. Offers are dedicated to students with at least a first degree. In the section s'expatrier you will find a selection of internships abroad and practical information.

    Iquesta [http://www.iquesta.com] : This website, for student with a 4 year degree or more is dedicated to internship, first position and summer jobs. You will find offers in France and abroad with a forum.

    The magazine l'Etudiant groups a lot of offers and give advice for your CV, cover letters, interviews, recruitment forums and contacts.

    EU programme : Leonardo da Vinci

    Community funds for the first phase of the programme amounted to € 800 million between 1995 and 2001, and 125 000 people received a grant for a work-related stay abroad.

    The program addresses to:

    • to young people with less than 28 years with a professional title: it is possible to carry out a training of job in a company (for a period between three and twelve months) in the working market of an other European State;
