Internship in France (stage) is often necessary to complete degrees
for a student that wants to highlight is skills and get a first experience at
work! To seek an internship abroad is also a unique experience, in term of language
as well as for learning a new culture.
A lot of internships are available directly at the University/School office
in charge of interns. We recommend also to contact directly, by sending a CV
and a cover letter, large companies that offer each year numerous internships
(banks, insurance, services,...). We advise you to target mainly positions that
are linked with your degree. Internship must be used primarily as a practice
of your academic knowledge (the internship is said to be conventionné
when there is a contract that links the university, the company and the intern)
There is no automatic interview but it is very frequent for long period or
at the end of your degree. The company seeks to determine whether the intern
has got the skills and the motivation for the position, and the intern has to
find whether the internship is filling his/her aim. It is necessary to get information
about the company befor to go to the interview (do not forget to check the comapany
website for example).
