Based in Brussels and established in 1972, Leaseurope, the European Federation of Leasing Company Associations, is looking for an Economist. Besides representing the common interests of its members in the dialogue with European and international institutions, Leaseurope produces publications, position papers, press releases, industry statistics and market trends analysis. Leaseurope is recognized as the premier source for information on the state of the European leasing and automotive rental markets.

Job description

The position entails:

Collecting market data and information at regular intervals
Analysing and interpreting the collected data to generate value messages
Writing insightful analysis of market trends and sentiment (incl. tables and charts)
Authoring articles for submission to specialized press
Undertaking research and conducting surveys on specific issues
Developing support material for use in submission to policy makers and standard setters
Acting as the point of contact for all market trends related inquiries
Presenting findings to Board members as well as at international conferences

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

University degree in economics or related field, with first rate academic record. A Master degree is an asset
Minimum 2 (more preferred) years of relevant work experience
Excellent computer skills (incl. experience with Excel and PowerPoint)
Thorough analytical skills
Demonstrated first class drafting and presentation skills
Problem-solving attitude
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Superior attention to details
Fluency (native level) in English; another European language is an asset
Prior knowledge of the leasing industry useful but not required
