Working in Amsterdam

Postby watherz » Sun May 29, 2011 4:43 pm

Hello,
I'm moving to Amsterdam on Tuesday until mid August. I have a place to stay and a couple of interviews for bar/cafe work.

Hoping someone can help me out as I'm slightly confused -- as an EU citizen do I have to register with the local authorities/ get a work permit? I will only be working for less than three months.

any help appreciated!

You should check out the EasyExpat guide to Amsterdam. There is a section on Visas.

"People from another EU country do not need a work permit to be able to work in the Netherlands. This includes people from a European Economic Area country....

....All international guests must report to a police station (the Aliens Department) within 8 days of arrival in the Netherlands"

Good luck & enjoy Amsterdam!
