Hello Friends,
Hoping for some good advice (or loopholes). My English boyfriend and I have recently decided to get married and are now in the rather cumbersome process of researching all of the legal procedures and documents required. I'm 20 and he's 21 (both very responsible and mature individuals) so you can imagine that we've never had much to do with any type of legal proceedings. Some technical questions arose: I wish to move to the UK but in order to avoid the 6 month no-employment period that comes with a Fiancee visa, I was wondering if we could get married 6 months prior to my graduation from uni (thus allowing me the opportunity to seek employment after)? Does a Fiancee visa allow one to enter and leave the UK freely?
Also, as a US citizen would I be granted dual citizenship or would I have to go through the necessary procedures to terminate my US citizenship? Would this have any affect on the fact that I am currently of dual nationality (with Russia)?
Would you advise seeking help from an immigration lawyer?
Thank you in advance,
Stacy
