My partner (UK) and I (US) have entered into a civil union in a state that does not recognize same sex unions. Mostly, it is a symbolic gesture and a chance for my friends to attend our wedding in some form before my partner and I actually wed in the UK.
My question is, should I include the civil union certificate in the fiance visa documents? Or is it best to avoid sending it in, since it verges on the illegal?
Thanks!
