Hi, I am currently waiting with my fiance in the U.K. for my fiances visa to be finished. However, I have to leave in about 2 weeks from todays date. The last things that we are waiting on is a finished police report from the police station and then we can finally send the forms back to the U.S. Embassy so an interview may be scheduled. I have been told that it could take up to 40 days for a police report and up to another 12 weeks after they recieve the forms to finally schedule an appointment!? Then...another week for them to finally send the visa out!? Does anyone know a more accurate time frame? Or any suggestions on a route to take so that maybe my fiance and I don't have to be separated? I'm seriously running low and out of time...I have been in England for the entire 6 months I am allowed to stay and I must return to America on the 27th of this month. I'm running out of ideas and I know its not the end of the world if we are separated for a while but seriously another entire 4 months when we've already been waiting like forever so close to the finish line? Things haven't taken as long as I've been told throughout this immigration process and I'm confident if they didn't mess up my fiances address into their computer systems, it would already be finished. I'm really really worried that we won't be together on Christmas Day. I just wish there was a way I could take him to the states with me on the 27th while we wait for the immigration to process or a way for me to stay in the U.K. with him at least until Christmas or until the visa processes. Is there anyone that has had a similar experience and had the interview finished with within 4-6 weeks after the embassy recieves the forms? Or does anyone have any tips on speeding the process up or know of any way I could extend my stay in the U.K.? Any suggestions, tips, or comments are very appreciated and welcome. If anyone has any information that may be useful please post a reply!
Thank you,
Maria
