I'm a US citizen married to a British citizen and I have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. I know I can travel without a visa in the EU because of my IRL but can I take up residence in an EU country or will I need a British passport?

    Hello,
British passport will be soon no use for staying in other EU countries I'm afraid (although they might find a last minute agreement, or move to a soft Brexit and match Norway?). Currently you can settle in another EU country as married to a EU member. However, in order to exercise this treaty right, your spouse should be with you.
Good luck and feel free to post other questions / updates on the forum :)
