    Hi all,
I am from Brazil, and will live in Milan for the next 2 years to study in UCSC. I know the city is quite expensive...and I'm thinking about renting a studio there. Where can I find cool+cheap neighborhoods for students? Are there any places to avoid (dangerous)?
I lived for a while in Brooklyn, NY, a place that is not so expensive, not so far from Manhattan, and with a really cool environment. Is there anywhere similiar in Milan?

    Many thanks!! Beijoooooos

Hi, I was in a similar situation two months ago, and after what Ive learnt I would say:
    cool:
Navigli Area (most famous night life)
    Brera/Garibaldi
    Loreto (soon to be)

inexpensive: very faaaar from the center.

In general, renting a studio is really expensive so most people share flats (still way to expensive IMHO!). Loreto is probably a good compromise between money and coolness.
But many people I know live outside center Milan and commute every day.

But would like to know others opinions as well!!?!

And what about Moscova (close to Garibaldi in the north) or Porta Romana (east, maybe a bit more affordable)?
