    i am a u.s. citizen & my girlfriend is a spanish citizen.

we've been together for two years & are planning to marry in spain. (but not through the church.)

she will need to continue working in spain & i will continue working in the u.s.

we will be living back & forth between the u.s. & spain as she has a home there & i rent here.

what effect will us marrying in spain have on her ability to live in the u.s. for any extended period of time when we need to be in the u.s.?

will she be considered a citizen since we are married?

...even if it was in spain?

& what effect will it have on me being able to live in spain when we need to be there?

    will i be a citizen?

basically we want to be married in spain & be able to be together in either of the two countries at either of our homes when work allows for us to be off at the same time.

hope this isn't too confusing... any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.
