    Hi,

You are living in India, or you used to live in India. How did you decide to move to India?

Help the community and share your experience as an expatriate in India.

Was it a difficult move? Was it complicated to find a job in India? To find an accommodation in India?

Did you have some visa/immigration issue to go to India? Or maybe everything was organised by your company for professional move?

 You can share here the different steps of your move in India. What would you recommend to people who would like to live in India?

Thanks in advance for sharing and giving advice.

    Hi Samantha,

Many thanks for your response. What do you mean with "Except the politics"? Do you have examples? Are you talking about corruption?
And what about the cast sytem?

Disclaimer: Not an expat, but an Indian citizen.

Caste system in India is a lot like White-Black racial segregation in US. In some ways, it's much milder than what Blacks had to endure in US and Jews, Romas and other minorities in Europe. The issue has been blown out of proportion by vested interests, more often than not funded by evangelist missionaries. I'm not disputing the fact that there are no caste based divisions, at least in rural parts, but it's more or less dying phenomena and will disappear in 3-4 decades at most.
Caste based politics is still active, but fast losing it's appeal. A lot of people from different castes as well religion work, eat together in almost every work place. Some even marry.

For living india is a good place, there is no difference in religious and caste, you can live as you like.
Searching jobs in India is also easy through job portals.
