Is there anyone who has children going to the International school of Milan or to the American school of Milan? What's your opinion about these two schools? Thanks

Please, at all costs the newest one with a new site in the centre is one to stay away from. This is from experience as both a teacher and parent. Any help or advice please get in touch.

International School of Milan vs Sir James Henderson

I am relocating to Milan in September 2014 with my two boys aged 8 and 9. I toured both the international school of Milan and the Sir James Henderson School last week and I am interested to hear any first hand experiences/impressions of these schools. Thank you.

Re: International School of Milan vs Sir James Henderson

Congrats at the move! I would point you to the Guide to Milan for info on the city, as well as it's section on international schools in Milan and education in Italy.

On our services site, Expat-Quotes, we also have listing of International Schools in Italy to give you a few more options.

I recommend connecting with expat blogs in Milan to get the skinny on what they really think of international schools in Milan.

I also tweeted and posted your request to Facebook so hopefully someone has some experience and can help!

Re: International School of Milan vs Sir James Henderson

    HI!
Just saw your post from about a month ago. I have 3 kids at the Sir James in both the lower and upper school. All three have thrived there and have always been happy and eager to go to school and participate in all the activities on offer. ALthough the facilities aren't exactly state of the art, the instruction is excellent and the teachers are caring and attentive. The location is also convenient whether you use a car or public transportation.
The school also has a group of parents called Friends and they can also help answer any questions. You can find their contacts on the parents section of the website.
    Hope this helps!

Re: International School of Milan vs Sir James Henderson

We have been in Italy 4 years now - we moved our daughters (aged 9 and 11) from International School of Modena (which is sister school to International School of Milan and Monza) to Sir James Henderson in Milan. We are so happy with Sir James Henderson for many reasons and the education is excellent. If you need more information about either schools and systems please email direct - joannawilson32@hotmail.com.

Can you provide more information? The site won't let me e-mail you directly for some reason.

I second the above user to avoid International School of Milan at all cost.

Though claming to be international, school is almost all Italian, catering Italian needs and ways. International kids feel very lonely and are constantly bullied. Administration ignores all the arrising problems. Teachers are underpayed and that effects their attitude toward their work. Education level is low, snob factor is high.

Hello, we are also interested to learn some more about the International School of Milan, and since I read I need to write some messages before I can write anyone in private, here it is. Meanwhile, I would appreciate any information about this school. Thanks!
