We adopted our youngest child from China and sent all the paperwork to the appropriate office in Nantes from the US, back in mid June of 2017... I received a letter stating that all the paperwork had been received and it basically said.. don't call us, we will call you.. we cannot apply for her French birth certificate until this gets processed and thus cannot get her French passport...

I'm just getting a little anxious.. how long does this usually take? I realize that it will take as long as it takes.. and we are not under a time crunch.. but it might help my anxiety to hear that it usually takes.. a year.. 18 months.. etc..

    thanks!

According to the French website on Nationality and adoption, it takes up to 6 months:

PS: I have changed the prefix as this message is in English (the flag prefix beside title does not say the country but the language of the message).

    Good luck!
Indeed the flag is new... you get me worried then as it does not seem obvious ... maybe be need to change the flag and make a speech balloon icon instead if it can help...

EDIT: actually all flags have been replaced by a ✎ pen, hopefully it will help.
