I find it strange that easyexpat seems to only recognise Barcelona and Madrid.

I think that there are a few more, as I live in Estepona, very close to Marbella and in Malaga Province in Andalucia.

I wonder why only Barcelona and Madrid get a mention.

    Hello LordRayne,

No, we don't recognise only Barcelona or Madrid, but they are the only two Spanish cities we've got expat guides on currently.

Usually we first choose the main expat destinations, or the capital city for our expat guides as we cannot cover all major cities in the world unfortunately (many other websites only cover the country).
In addition, for Spain it makes sense to cover Barcelona, not only because of Catalonia, but primarily because it is one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe.

When and if we implement other cities within the same country, then the city itself will become a destination choice for classifieds and job offers. in the meantime those ads go to the country level.

If you visit BlogExpat.com, you will see that we cover actually many other areas and cities in Spain, including Malaga: http://www.blogexpat.com/en/dir/spain.htm

    Thank you Cyril,

Understood. However, on the Costa del Sol there are many expats, mainly British, Swedish, Dutch, Belgian and recently a lot of Russians. An area close to Puerto Banus, Nueva Andalucia, is referred to as Little Sweden.

I took the opportunity to review the blog destinations for BlogExpat/Spain (as some new areas were added more recently) and reclassified some blogs. Many more are in Andalusia now and I have added Granada and Balearic Islands.

I also would like to take this opportunity to highlight the many topics we have created on the Spain forum where we encourage expats to share their experience. They are easily noticeable with a [IMG] icon. For example:
 The Best Areas to Live in Spain
 Planning Your Move to Spain
 Flat or House: How to Rent in Spain
    Taxes in Spain
    Public Transportation in Spain
 Going Out and Meeting People in Spain
 Healthcare: Medical Treatment in Spain
    Shopping in Spain
    etc.

Thanks in advance for your help and see you soon on the forum

    Once again, thank you Cyril,

Having been resident in Spain now for four years, I look forward to receiving relevant Expat News, as my previous identity (set up when I lived in France) had homed in on Sweden (my wife is Swedish) and the only way I could change it was to re-register.

I shall do what I can to participate on the forums.

These two are the largest cities, and most people choose to live there, but I do agree with you. Spain has so many wonderful cities, and I would love to learn more about them. Hopefully, there will be more city guides in the future.
