I am exploring the possibility of moving to London to live and work for a couple of years. I was born in England to a British mother and American father. I am now a citizen of the US and hold an American passport. However, I have understood since childhood that I am eligible to apply for a UK passport. With a British passport, what kind of work permit would I need? I can't find any info. for those of us born in the UK that are now citizens of another country. However, there is lots of info. concerning British grandparents. If anyone out there has any information, or can direct me to better web sites than I have found, I would be grateful.

 

Would I be free to do what I want without a visa and without a work permit? Thanks for the speedy response!
