I would like to work for a month or two this summer in France in order to improve my French. Whilst I am not yet fluent I have completed my A Level in French and am confident enough in the language to survive in France! Are there any suggestions as to where I should apply? Places which would be happy and relaxed enough to employ both me and my friend? Preferably in the tourist industry where our English would be useful!

Hello catespree and welcome tro EasyExpat.com

First of all you should put a photo in your profile; it's nicer and your message will be more visible :)

Regarding going to France this summer, you can have a look at our guide for expatriation to France. You will find an article for summer, seasonal and short term jobs in France with some useful tips and advice.

It might be difficult to find 2 positions at the same place for both you and your friend. However by looking around you can find similar positions (for example one in a small shop, the other one in a bar) that will be convenient for the period.
In order to increase your chance, maybe you could say that you are interested by 2-3 months (I assume that shops prefer to cover the full summer season) and also better to look first in areas where they see a lot of tourists.

There is also the possibility to work in wine fields for the "vendanges" (in that case it might work fine for 2 people as they need a lot of hands).

Best of luck and keep us informed of your experience :)
