P/t Relocation Consultant wanted in New York City

Going-there is a London-based provider of global destination services. We deliver personal support and essential city information to corporate employees and their families taking on international assignments in 25 cities worldwide.

We are recruiting a YourGuide Coordinator in New York City. Our YourGuide Coordinators around the world are part of an international team of consultants. Work is flexible, from home and paid hourly. Weekly workload varies between a guaranteed 6 hours and 12-40.

This is a two-part role, encompassing (1) research & writing and (2) relocation “consulting”. It involves researching, writing and updating online city content, as well as acting as a personal relocation consultant, or YourGuide, for incoming assignees and their families by providing pre-arrival counseling, home search, orientation and follow-up support.

Qualities & Qualifications
* Fluent English writing skills
* Strong basic computer skills, home Internet access & mobile phone
* Able to conduct original research on the web, email and by phone and possess an interest in doing so
* Able to work flexibly and independently for at least 6 hours a week, and up to 20 or 40 (or delegate), when needed.
* Able to submit published writing samples or to complete a trial research/writing exercise.
* Preferable experience living as an expatriate – either as a foreign national in New York (minimum 1 year) or as an American having lived abroad – and able to empathize with the relocating assignee and family.
* In-depth knowledge of New York City and commuter neighborhoods
* Good knowledge of New York rental practices and the ability to learn more
* Able to help negotiate a lease on behalf of assignee, and coordinate payment of broker fee, deposit, utilities hook up, etc., if needed.
* Friendly, professionally-presented and able to put people at ease
* Self-motivated, service-oriented, problem solver, able to think and act on your feet, reliable
