Satellite Dish Antanne in Neighbouring France

Postby angela62 » Mon Jul 09, 2012 11:05 am

Hello,
I will soon move to Geneva (neighbouring France).
Are we allowed to install a small satellite receiver dish on top of apartment buildings in neighbouring France?

I would like to receive Indian channels via a decoder but it needs a satellite receiver.

I have seen ''cable services'' providing TV progs but not the Indian channels (PEHLA).

Anyone has experience in this?

Thanks

The Expat Guide to Geneva is a great resource to find out about utilities, accommodation, etc.

TV subscription services are normally bundled with a phone line and broadband internet.
Installation is usually arranged online through the provider's website or by telephone after confirming permission from your landlord or the local authorities. This is usually permissible, but it can differ from place to place. A request for service is placed, a technician will come to your home, and installation should be completed within a week. Installation fees may be waived during promotions, but may also cost up to €150. If there is equipment in place, it may just take changing the name on the contract and setting-up payments.

Anyone else have experience in this area?
