I'm from Ukraine and want to relocate in India. Currently I'm looking for opportunities, and for a job. I'm an IT specialist with experience from 10+ yr. In my country I work mainly in USA based companies so my salary after tax is of around 40 000 USD per year.
I placed my CV on naukri and other sites, and got a lot of answers, like around of 30. But when I answered to them indicating my current package and salary (they've asked this info) and telling them that expected package is negotiable, no-one answered. What I want to ask you is, is it possible that this number of my current salary of 40000$ fear them somehow?????? How should I apply for a job, I mean I'm ready to work for 20 000-30 000$ per year for some time, just to relocate in India. Should I lie about my current package?
Please help me with any advice, also if someone could help me to make my cv to be "more Indian" I would be very thankful (contact me please in private if you can spend some short time just to look at my cv and help me).
Also a question. Actually I also thought about volunteering in India. I mean helping people, but discovered that actually it's like tourism or something, I mean you pay for your volunteering. Since I'm from a country where we are also poor, software developers in my country are making money in the same proportion as in India, i.e. normal people receive like 1000 rupees and developers like 200 times more (which is stupid and unjust but that's not a question), and I do not have middle-class papa-mama to pay me my living when I go "helping" people while smoking some weed after-time (sorry for the metaphor), I at least expect to be given some primitive food and place to sleep, I mean not all white people are little rich boys/girls. If you see what I mean. So my question is, are all volunteering programs payed like tourism or there are some where you give your efforts in return for a food and bed? I would be ready to help people having leprosy if needed, I have no problems with it. But I need to eat and I have no one except me to help me with it.
