    Hello -

What public transportation is available in Sweden? Is it easy to move about the cities and country at large? What modes of transport are available: Bus? Underground/Subway? Trams? Trains?

Do you use public transportation in Sweden? Can you recommend it? Is it safe, inexpensive, and reliable? What is your experience? How much is a basic fare? Is there a monthly card, or discount options?

Thank you for sharing your tips, questions and advice! :)

Public transportation in Stockholm, Sweden is fantastic. The subway, the trains, the trams, the boats, and the busses can get you anywhere in Stockholm. The trains can also take you to other parts of Sweden.

To find out more go to sl.se (they run the public transportation in Stockholm).

You will need an SL card to use the public transportation. You can buy them at Pressbyrån or anywhere with an SL sign in their window.

They offer discounts for children, students, and seniors. The normal price per month is 800kr but the rides are unlimited for the whole month. If you travel a lot it's worth it. You can also just load your card with 50+ kr if you don't need to travel often. One ride within the city costs 25kr but it depends on where you come from.

If you have any questions feel free to message me or leave a comment.
