    Hello!

What public transportation is available in Berlin? Is it easy to move about Berlin? What modes of transport are available: Bus? Underground/Subway? Trams? Trains?

Do you use public transportation in Berlin? Can you recommend it? Is it safe, inexpensive, and reliable? What is your experience? How much is a basic fare? Is there a monthly card, or discount options?

Thank you for sharing your tips, questions and advice!

If there's something I can say about public transport in Berlin, it's always on time. I come from a city in which the timing for trains is sometimes off, so if you're just adjusting to Berlin I think it's important to have your watch on your wrist.

Thanks for your perspective Jana. I agree that transport in Berlin is great, although I don't know about always on time ;) Let's call it pretty good.

For new-comers to the site and Berlin, I refer you to the Berlin guide and section on public transport in Berlin.
