I just wanted to say that having now bought 3 properties inthe Algarve in Portugal, I have found a wonderful Real estate agent, Direct2PropertyShop. they can be found at http://www.direct2propertyshop.com
They helped me every step of the way, from lawyers, to Banks everything, where the other 2 I used just left me once they had been paid. They seem to cover all the country and may be handy if you know what you are looking for.

Once you found your new home you may find a trusted agent to deal with the Portuguese agent or deal with them directly.
