    Hi

I am going to France to look for work from the UK. I am getting income support.

Can I claim unemployment benefit in France while doing so?

    Thanks

hi, i looked into this last year for my partner. if you go you will be entitled to benefits but only if it is for a short time & if you can prove you are not just going on a long holiday, however if you claim housing/council tax etc they won't pay any accommodation for abroad if it is being paid in uk also if you are in council/ housing association they only hold it for so long before they consider you to have left.
you can find out more by going to the social security office and asking them. i also found a web site on google called expat mag ( or similar ) that has a jobs offered section. good luck might see you out there.
