Hi,

I'm hoping somebody out there can help us out, I have recently become engaged to a girl in the States as we figure that flying the Atlantic everytime to see each other will probably start to get old pretty quickly! To this end I have a few questions: -

Here or there? Where is the best place to get married? I would rather we did it over in the States as all of my Fiancee's family would be able to attend, and I think that would be more important for her.

If we did that can we just go to the British Embassy and get a Visa there and then?

How long does it take?

Does a marriage certificate from the States count in the UK?

Do we register once we get back to the UK?

How do we go about getting a National Insurance number for her?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated as we literally have no clue and just want to see more of each other!
